What is incontinence?

Incontinence is the involuntary or uncontrollable leakage of urine.

It arises from various causes such as congenital defects, neurological pathologies, urinary tract infections, cancer, weakened pelvic floor due to pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, long-term physical exertion, obesity, etc.

It results from a dysfunctional pelvic floor, which can either be too relaxed or too tight. This leads to various health problems, including incontinence.

It negatively impacts a woman's quality of life in many ways: hygienic, health, economic, and social.

Incontinence, by itself, is mostly treatable at any age, but the biggest issue is the embarrassment and hiding of these problems.

Why should we talk about it?

Don't be afraid to talk about this topic openly, there is no reason to be ashamed. Every second woman may experience involuntary urine leakage at some point in her life.

Always consult with a specialist to determine the cause and choose the best solution! Involuntary urine leakage can be related to serious diagnoses like cancer, so it's advisable to seek a doctor's advice first!

Common Types of Incontinence

STRESS

Caused by physical activity related to a sudden increase in intra-abdominal pressure (stress), not related to psychological stress.

URGENT

Occurs with an overactive bladder, characterized by a strong urge to urinate, often with involuntary urine leakage day and night.

~ POSTPARTUM INCONTINENCE

Pregnancy, childbirth, and hormonal changes put significant stress on the pelvic floor, which may temporarily cause involuntary urine leakage in the postpartum period. If the problem persists for more than six months, it should be addressed promptly.

Symptoms of Incontinence

Urine leakage or a feeling of pressure and urgency may occur...

During jumping or weightlifting

When sneezing or coughing

Waking up at night to urinate

Feeling urgency in the bladder or bowels

Why should we address it?

Incontinence is one of the dysfunctions of the pelvic floor. Its functionality is important at every stage of a woman's life to maintain health and vitality. Therefore, we should care for it daily and understand how it works to effectively manage incontinence. This helps to dispel myths about the effectiveness of Kegel exercises, for example.

✿ What is its role?

The pelvic floor is a very important structure of the human body, responsible for a number of essential functions that contribute to the maintenance of our health. Its role is postural, stabilizing and affects our psyche.

✿ When is it healthy?

A prerequisite for the healthy functioning of the pelvic floor is its elasticity or optimal tension (tone). If it loses it and is weakened (hypotonic) or contracted (hypertonic) sooner or later, dysfunction occurs.

✿ In what ways will it surprise us?

We store our fears, stresses, births, and even unpleasant sexual experiences in it. It responds by sagging and collapsing or, conversely, cramping and contracting. Both lead to loss of elasticity and malfunction.

How does my breathing affect my pelvic floor?

Instructional videos demonstrate the whole principle.

Breathe deeplyinto your pelvic floor. With an inhale, imagine your breath flowing through your chest down to your abdomen and lower abdomen.

Never hold your breath during exercises. The pelvic floor should be used as part of the entire muscle chain– the deep stabilization system (abdominal press, pelvic floor, diaphragm, and deep back muscles).

During inhalation, consciously relax (release) the pelvic floor muscles and activate (tighten) them with each exhalation.

What’s behind our solution for stress incontinence?

Aniball Inco is the younger sibling of Aniball, a unique medical device for training conscious relaxation (release) and activation (tightening) of the pelvic floor muscles. The balloon helps discover the pelvic floor and learn how to work with it effectively in conjunction with breathing. This is why women of all ages love using Aniball Inco.

Aniball Inco is a medical device designed for the prevention and treatment of stress urinary incontinence. Please read the instructions and information related to the safe use of the medical device carefully.
